Another month, another update

Another month gone by......how can I recap? I traveled another 500 miles to meet another friend, Stephanie in Ky, had a great weekend and Natalie was there for a school conference so I was able to see her again! We organized Stephanie's long neglected floss. It took the 3 of us 6 hours to do, but it was worth it and it was the best thing we could do for a working Dr. with limited time off!!! I gave Stephanie one of the scissors keeps that I had also made for everyone at Jubilee. This one was personalized with the colors both she and Lori loved and I used the Lavender floss Lori gave me for Christmas in the design.
In other stitching progress, I decided to get out my long neglected HAED and finish a page. I took this with me to KY to get their opinions. I think it is stitching much darker than the photo of it and wasnt' real happy. They told me to stitch the page under where I am now instead of going across and have assured me it will look fine in the end. Here is the album link so you can see the photo of the design. So let the debating begin......
On the 23rd of each month, we are doing a remembrance stitching in honor of our friend who passed. For now I will be doing a design that she was also working on. In Jan that piece was Castles in the Air.
I put a little more time in my current RR of Jodie's.
And since none of my stitching was thrilling me much I decided to start something new. I was helped out in that department by receiving a package in the mail from my friend Gabi. She sent me a LNH pattern "snowflakes" that I had admired on her blog. So in the midst of the worst snow of the season I am working on that!!!
One day last week I received a large box in the mail and to my surprise it was filled with finishing supplies!! Lyne sent them to me hoping that they would be used instead of taking up space at her house. I think I can put them to good use!
One more thing I would like to mention is my frustration with Chatelaine designs. I have been unhappy in the Fairy Garden group about having to wait for a corrected chart that I had paid for back in June. She kept promising the correction and I kept waiting. Well finally last night I decided to send a post. Low and behold the new file just happened to be uploaded!!! My disappointment now was that not ONE person wrote that they agreed with me! Once she has your money you apparently aren't as important as pumping out new patterns every couple of weeks (which are also probably filled with mistakes). Off my soap box now.
And since no post is complete with an Amberlyn update, here she is! Now mobile in this world too! Watch out! And yes that's a bruise on her head, from being mobile! Thought I'd show her mom too!

  2. First Amberlyn id just adorable!

    Second, love the scissor case.

Third, glad you had a great time in KY. :)

Lastly, I think TS does look darker in your photos than it does in the HAED photo.

  3. The scissor keep looks so nice. That was nice of you all to organize floss. I did that for my mom last summer. You are working on a lot of fun projects. Hope the snow lets up a little for you.

  4. Amberlyn is such a cutie! All of your stitching looks fabulous. I too think the HAED is turning out a lot darker than the picture shows it to be. But, one can never be too sure without seeing it in person.

  5. Beautiful stitching all around. Love it all. Great pics of Amberlyn and your daugther. And I should decide which of your blogs to follow....lol. Until I'll take that decision I guess I'll do both. Stop laughing!!

  6. Amberlyn is an adorable little girl!
You do have a lot of beautiful stitching projects at the moment.
And I'd like to say I totally agree with you about the Chatelaine Fairies thing. I am very glad you mentioned it again. Thank you for this.

  7. Nancy, I entirely agree with you concerning Fairies. It is very frustrating, especially when other stitchers start smoothing over the problem. And now we are still left with a chart which is still not entirely correct (hollyhocks on the left).

  8. Nancy, Tuscan is beautiful. I think once you get to the lighter stitching you will like it better. I looks so rich.......can't wait to see it.

  12. Nancy, you sure do have a lot of WIP and they all look great. Sorry to hear about the problems w/Fairy Garden. That is THE ONE design of hers that I have found that I absolutely, truly want to do. At the time, however, I just could not afford it. I hope to sometime be able to do it though.

Amberlyn sure is a little doll!

  13. How sweet of you to help organize floss - I just did my own yesterday and it's definitely NOT a quick process (even though I'm sure I have much less). All the WIPs are beautiful and that's a seriously impressive set of finishing supplies - have fun putting them to use!

  19. You are working on so many things, I think I'm too old to do that, would mix it all up. Everything is gorgeous, but the baby picture takes the prize, how ADORABLE!!

  20. I think the girls were right when they said to stitch the next page down before deciding to toss the HAED. I think the lighter colours in the sky will really brighten it up.

  21. Can't believe I forgot to post a comment on this when I was here last. I just love the scissor keep, guess I need to start looking for the pattern. Your grand-daughter is so very adorable, what a sweetie. Sorry to see you left ILCS.

    Happy Stitching ... Sandy

  22. Hi Nancy,
I left a message for you on the ILCS group but Gabi told me you left the group (sorry to hear that), so I'll just copy it here:
I've also had an OT update last week, thanks Nancy M for your comment! And sorry about confusing you; I did have to stay home at the beginning of my pregnancy (on bed rest because of slight blood loss for about 4 weeks), but once the loss cleared up, I was allowed to go back to work. Then we found out I had some difficulties with my blood-pressure, so I started medication and a low-salt diet (not that I eat that much salt, but well), and was warned if I wasn't completely under control, I'd have to rest again. So since friday I'm back at home. And I'll do my best not to become wacko :)

  23. Love the scissor keep! and the pic Amberlyn, I hope that halo fits her for the rest of her life. What a beautiful little darling. I popped on by way of a fellow bloger and I think I will be back regularly. Thank you.
    Be always in stitches.

  24. The scissor case is beautiful. The baby is an little angel from heaven. I glue on the trim on my finishes. I do not have the patience to sew it on. I use tacky glue and it dries real quick and clear.

  25. Your stitching is lovely but sorry to hear of your chart troubles. That is so very wrong. There is something called the blog of shame, not sure if you want to voice your issue there but it is an option. This seems to be an onging issue with that designer. Her designs are stunning once completed but are they worth all the trouble? Only you can decide that. Beautiful stitching!
